Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a Naam Kirtan at the party office in Hengrabari of Guwahati on Monday in honour of Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev’s Tirubhav Tithi.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the event in the party office. There were also other more cabinet ministers and party members there.
Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev’s 454th death anniversary is being observed in Assam.
Numerous events have been scheduled for the day at the Namghars throughout the state, and crowds of people are flooding them.
Many locations such as Dhekiakhowa Bornaamghar, Batadrava Than, Majuli, and Barpetra Satra, have experienced a drop in religious enthusiasm. Kirtan and Hori Naam chants are purifying the Namghor building.
