Nagaland: 5 Killed, 3 Injured In Hit-and-Run Case in Kukidolong
Guwahati: In a hit-and-run accident case, around five persons were killed and three others were injured in a road accident in Dimapur district of Nagaland on Saturday.
The incident took place in the Kukidolong area near Jharnapani of the district.
According to reports, the accident occurred between an oncoming Tata truck side hit a Kohima-bound regional taxi.
In the accident, three persons died on the spot and two succumbed to their injuries while they were on their way to the hospital.
The three others injured, including the driver of the van were immediately rushed to the Christian institute of health sciences and research hospital in Dimapur for better treatment.
Meanwhile, Deputy commissioner of police (Crime) and Dimapur police PRO informed that the truck driver who fled from the spot, was intercepted by a police escort team of Nagaland deputy chief minister Y Patton at New Chumoukedima area after a hot chase.
Police officials informed that the driver and truck have been taken into custody.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this connection.
