Nagaland: Advisor Urges Unity and Traditional Values at CAPO General Session
Northeast Desk, 5th May: Kudecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, delivered a compelling message of unity and cultural preservation at the 28th General Session of the Chokri Area Public Organisation (CAPO) in Kikruma village on May 4. Stressing the significance of truth, honesty, and the revival of traditional Naga culture, Khamo called upon the community to prioritize these values for maintaining identity and solidarity.
Drawing attention to resolutions by the Chakhesang Public Organisation, Khamo reiterated the importance of self-reliance and sustainable forest resource management, advocating for a ban on pig imports and restrictions on jungle burning. He urged families to actively engage in afforestation efforts by participating in tree plantation initiatives.
Encouraging entrepreneurial spirit among youth, Khamo emphasized the value of innovative thinking and enterprising endeavors. He urged young Naga individuals to explore business opportunities, highlighting entrepreneurship as a pathway to success.
The event also witnessed the declaration of a new CAPO leadership team for the term 2024-27, led by Vepozoyi Theyo. The gathering underscored the pressing issues of societal unity, environmental conservation, and economic self-reliance, blending traditional wisdom with modern entrepreneurial approaches to address the challenges facing Naga communities.
