Nagaland Assembly Passes Appropriation (No. 1) Bill, 2024

Northeast Desk, 29th February: The Nagaland Assembly, on Thursday, passed the Appropriation (No. 1) Bill, 2024 by a voice vote. The bill, which pertains to the Supplementary Demand for Grants for the year 2023–2024, was introduced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who also holds the Finance portfolio.

The bill authorizes the state government to allocate and appropriate Rs 3308,90,27,000 from the Consolidated Fund of the State of Nagaland to the services for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2024.

Rio introduced the Bill following the unanimous passage of the demand for grants by the House. Subsequently, Speaker Sharingain Longkumer put the bill to vote, and members unanimously passed it by voice vote.
