Nagaland Celebrates Teachers’ Day with Honorees and New Health Initiative

Northeast Desk, 6th September: Nagaland’s Teachers’ Day celebration paid tribute to 14 outstanding educators recognized for their significant contributions to student development. Held in the state capital, the ceremony honored both government and private school teachers for their dedication to academic excellence and extracurricular activities. The honorees included 10 government teachers and four from private institutions, each receiving a citation and cash award for their exceptional commitment.

Advisor for School Education Kekhrielhoulie Yhome also introduced a new initiative during the event — the students’ health card. Developed in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare Department, the card aims to improve student health by fostering stronger collaboration between parents and teachers. “The health card is designed to enhance student well-being and promote a healthier lifestyle,” Yhome said.

Additionally, Yhome assured that the School Education Department is implementing administrative reforms to improve educational quality, emphasizing the importance of education in the state, where it is a major employer.
