Nagaland: Child Rescued After Being Trapped in Drainage in Kohima

Northeast Desk, 22nd April: In a dramatic early morning rescue operation, a child was trapped inside a drainage system in the old NST area of Kohima. The incident unfolded around 7:30 am, prompting a swift response from multiple rescue teams.

Kohima Police, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire & Emergency Services, and KOHIMAS Hospital, mobilized to save the child, who had been trapped for over 8 hours. Despite the challenges posed by the drainage system, the teams persevered, working tirelessly to free the trapped boy.

The rescue effort, lasting about 3 hours, involved navigating the complexities of the drainage system to reach and extract the child safely. The coordinated efforts and timely response of all involved parties were instrumental in ensuring the boy’s well-being.
