Nagaland CM meets Minister Jitendra Singh to discuss states issues
Guwahati: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met with Union Minister Jitendra Singh to discuss a number of state-related problems on Thursday.
The topics discussed ranged from development to the placement of officers from the All India Services.
Rio brought to Singh’s attention some of the concerns surrounding IAS officers’ deputation and placement in Nagaland.
Rio also asked the Union Minister to check in with the Central Government on the status of some of Nagaland’s other project plans. Singh stated that his office will take appropriate action.
According to a release from the Ministry of Personnel, Rio praised Singh’s intense interest and focus on the development of the Northeast, saying that the people of Nagaland regard him as their messenger in the national capital who is always ready to follow up on problems of their concern.
The Northeast has witnessed a “miraculous makeover,” according to the Union Minister, owing in large part to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high priority.
Singh went on to praise the Prime Minister’s efforts in the Northeast, saying that the PM has carefully and painstakingly secured not only all-round development in the Northeast, but has also enabled the people of the Northeast to play a mainstream role in the nation’s building.
