Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio Pays Tribute to Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio joined the global tributes to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26 at the age of 92.
Describing him as a “humble visionary,” Rio acknowledged Singh’s pivotal role in shaping India’s economic growth and development.
In a heartfelt message shared on his microblogging site X, CM Rio praised Singh’s “calm leadership, wisdom, and humility,” adding, “His legacy will always be remembered.” Rio expressed his deep sorrow over Singh’s passing, extending condolences to his family and loved ones, and wishing for his soul to rest in peace.
Singh, who died at AIIMS Delhi on Thursday night after being admitted in critical condition, is remembered for his transformative leadership in India, particularly in the areas of economic reforms and financial growth.
Deputy Chief Ministers Y. Patton and T. R. Zeliang also joined in paying their respects, further underlining the widespread admiration for Singh’s leadership across the political spectrum.
