Nagaland Congress Condemns MLA’s Allegations Over Cow Slaughter Ban Rally

Northeast Desk, 29th September: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has publicly refuted allegations made by MLA and Advisor Imkong L. Imchen regarding their stance on a proposed rally advocating for a cow slaughter ban scheduled in Kohima on September 28, 2024.

In a press statement, the NPCC expressed its shock at what they termed “baseless allegations,” clarifying that they had previously condemned the “Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra” in a press release dated September 10, 2024. “His allegation that we had not condemned the proposed program is factually incorrect,” the committee stated, emphasizing that their position is publicly documented and accessible.

The committee further criticized Imchen for not focusing on factual information, suggesting that his claims stem from “fantasy” rather than reality. “We are sorry to state that we don’t see any shred of merit in responding to the rest of his unsubstantiated tirade of allegations against us,” they added.

Reaffirming their commitment to engage in constructive dialogue, the NPCC insisted that discussions should be rooted in evidence and facts, rather than baseless accusations. They concluded by reiterating their condemnation of the proposed cow slaughter rally, calling it an “assault on the diverse and secular spirit enshrined in our Constitution” and reaffirming their dedication to opposing divisive agendas in the state.
