Nagaland Congress Protests Alleged NEET-UG 2024 Exam Irregularities, Demands Action

Northeast Desk, 21st June: Nagaland Congress leaders and workers staged a protest outside the Congress Bhavan in Kohima on June 21, responding to alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 examination.

Armed with placards and banners, the demonstrators demanded accountability from the National Testing Agency (NTA) and others implicated in the alleged irregularities. Meshenlo Kath, Co-chairman of the Public Grievance Department of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, expressed deep concern over the situation, questioning the timeliness and impact of actions taken by the Modi government on the country’s citizens.

Earlier, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan assured the public of a thorough investigation into potential irregularities specifically in the NEET exam in Bihar. He emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and the welfare of students, stating, “We are in touch with the Bihar government regarding the NEET exam. We are receiving information from Patna, and the police are investigating. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty based on credible information.”

The NEET exam, a critical test for medical aspirants nationwide, has come under scrutiny following reports of possible misconduct.
