Nagaland: CTAN-NNQF Escalates Stir as Government Stays Mum on 147 Posts

Kohima: One week after its ultimatum lapsed, the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland–Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (CTAN-NNQF) has significantly ramped up its agitation. The move comes in direct response to the Nagaland state government’s continued silence regarding the requisition of 147 Assistant Professors and Librarians’ posts to the Nagaland Public Service Commission’s (NPSC) Common Educational Services Examination (CESE).

The deadline, set to coincide with the submission of the High-Powered Committee (HPC) report on May 22, passed without any formal acknowledgement or official communication from the government, much to the chagrin of the association.

CTAN-NNQF representatives, who attempted to engage with authorities on the day of the deadline, were informed that the Chief Secretary was out of station, a development the forum alleges effectively stalled any meaningful dialogue.

In a sharply worded statement, the CTAN-NNQF voiced strong suspicions about the administration’s intentions, pointedly asking, “What exactly is the government trying to hide?” The association further condemned what it termed as “intentional stonewalling” of a public issue of considerable gravity.

In light of the perceived inaction, the organisation has now transitioned to Phase Two of its agitation strategy, initiating a widespread slogan campaign. This campaign, according to CTAN-NNQF, aims to serve multiple objectives: to inform the public about the ongoing requisition efforts, maintain consistent pressure on the government, reflect public sentiment, particularly the growing discontent over governmental inaction, and signal the possibility of further escalation should their demands continue to be overlooked.

The CTAN-NNQF has firmly reiterated its demand for the immediate requisition of all 147 posts. The association urged the state government to be transparent, fulfil its legal obligations, and address the long-pending grievance with both clarity and unwavering commitment.
