Nagaland election 2023: ECI orders repolling in 4 polling booths

Guwahati: Re-voting at four polling places will take place on March 1, 2023, according to the Nagaland State Election Commission.

As per reports, re-voting is scheduled for March 1, 2023, from 7 AM to 4 PM.

Re-voting will occur in the following locations: New Colony S/W, Pangri V, Jaboka Village Polling Station, Tizit Assembly Constituency, and Pathso East Wing, which falls within the Zunheboto Assembly Constituency.

In Nagaland, voting is being conducted at 2,291 polling locations, of which 196 are run by female poll workers and 10 by individuals with disabilities. In Nagaland, 640 voting places have been designated as “vulnerable,” and 323 as “critical.”

The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar commended voters and poll workers for their outstanding efforts in securing fair elections. More than 23 times as many seizures occurred during the 2019 Assembly elections as during the 2018 Assembly elections as a result of the Election Commission’s emphasis on inducement-free elections. At any of the 5,710 polling places, there will be no re-voting.

In conclusion, it is noteworthy that elections in Nagaland and Meghalaya were conducted peacefully and with a high voter turnout. The people participated overwhelmingly, and the Election Commission’s efforts to ensure a fair and free election were successful.
