Nagaland Government Employee Arrested in Kohima Molestation Case
Kohima, Nagaland – A state government employee has been apprehended by the Nagaland police following allegations of molesting a 13-year-old girl in Kohima.
The disturbing incident reportedly took place in the second week of April in the vicinity of Lower Forest Colony.
A senior police officer confirmed that the accused is employed as a driver within the state’s Forest Department.
The Additional Superintendent of Police in Kohima detailed that the alleged molestation occurred while the young girl was tending to a garden.
Prompt action was taken by the Kohima Women’s Police Station, which launched an initial inquiry into the matter. This investigation led to the swift arrest of the accused at his place of residence.
Following his arrest, the accused was taken into police custody, and his statement pertaining to the allegations was officially recorded. The police have further stated that a formal case has been registered against the individual at the Kohima Women Police Station.
The officer in charge of the case confirmed that the accused has been formally arrested and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation into the alleged crime is currently in progress.
