Nagaland Minister Wins the Internet; Know Why

Guwahati: Nagaland minister Temjen Imna Along has once again dominated social media with his brilliant sense of humour. On Monday, he urged the nation’s youth to join his “singles movement” to slow down population growth.

Taking to Twitter on the occasion of World Population Day, he asked people to be sensible towards population growth. He then proceeded to ask the youth of the country to ‘#StaySingle’ like him.

Along wrote, “On the occasion of #WorldPopulationDay, let us be sensible towards the issues of population growth and inculcate informed choices on child bearing. Or #StaySingle like me and together we can contribute towards a sustainable future. Come join the singles movement today.”

Twitter users agreed with him that women should be taught to make “educated decisions about childbearing” and many also laughed at his humorous conclusion.

“I won’t have to feel guilty about being single any longer. Proud supporter of the cause,” wrote a user.

The minister from Nagaland has been making headlines for his humorous perspective, which has given internet users a good chuckle. A video of him earlier talking about the advantages of having “little eyes” became popular. The internet was impressed by his amusing interpretation of it.

In another occasion, his remark regarding Google’s worry about his wife won over Twitter. He posted a picture of the questions that people were asking about him the most, pointing out one that said, “Temjen Imna Along wife.”

Reacting to it he tagged Google and wrote, “Ayalee, @Google search excites me. I am still looking for her!”
