Nagaland: Mon District to Distribute Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities on November 8
Mon, Nagaland – In a significant move to improve the lives of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in Mon district, Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma announced an upcoming distribution event in partnership with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
The initiative aims to provide essential aids and appliances to individuals identified in assessment camps conducted from July 24 to July 30, 2024, across several blocks in Mon.
The distribution event is scheduled for November 8 at 11:00 AM at the Deputy Commissioner Office Complex in Mon. Beneficiaries, selected from earlier assessments, are encouraged to attend with an identity card (such as an Aadhaar card) and proof of disability, which are required to receive the assistive devices.
This initiative reflects the district administration’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities, offering them tools for greater independence and quality of life. Commenting on the program, Deputy Commissioner Verma said, “Our focus is to support individuals with disabilities by providing them with the tools they need to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. We encourage all selected beneficiaries to attend the camp and benefit from this initiative.”
The project is part of Mon district’s broader efforts to foster inclusivity and provide critical resources to those in need.
