Nagaland: Naga Hoho Urges Swift Resolution of Naga Political Issue
Dimapur, Nagaland: The Naga Hoho (NH), the apex Naga tribal body, has issued a stern call to the Central government and the NSCN (IM) to expedite the resolution of the decades-long Naga political issue.
In a press release, NH President Sulanthung Lotha expressed deep concern over the prolonged impasse and urged both parties to prioritize the aspirations of the Naga people. The organization highlighted the significance of the 2015 Framework Agreement and expressed disappointment over the lack of substantial progress since then.
“The political settlement is the only way forward for the Naga people,” the NH stated. It criticized the government for its perceived lack of sincerity and urged it to demonstrate political will to deliver a lasting solution.
The NH emphasized the need for an inclusive approach to the peace process, involving all sections of the Naga community. It also called on all Naga political groups to unite and work towards a common goal.
In a final appeal, the NH urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor his commitment to resolve the Naga issue by Christmas this year. The organization expressed hope that a swift and honorable settlement would bring peace and prosperity to the Naga people.
