Nagaland: NSCN/GPRN Sümi Region Announces Comprehensive Action Plan to Prioritize Public Welfare

Northeast Desk, 18th May: The NSCN/GPRN Sümi Region has introduced a detailed “action-plan” focused on enhancing the safety and regulation within the region. According to a recent press release from the NSCN/GPRN Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the plan comprises a series of directives aimed at fostering a safer and more controlled environment for the residents.

Key measures include a strict ban on the transportation and sale of substances harmful to public health, such as alcohol, sunflower, cough syrup, ganja, and the notorious gutka. Additionally, the operation of unregistered vehicles or those without valid documentation has been prohibited.

To protect wildlife and the environment, the Sümi Region has outlawed hunting and fishing using electrical equipment like dynamos and generators, as well as explosive devices and poisonous chemicals. The extraction of minerals from river belts and the deliberate burning of jungles are also banned.

The NSCN/GPRN Sümi Region has also mandated that its national workers must adhere to government-assigned duties and possess a valid assignment order before executing any tasks. Non-compliance will result in severe consequences as per the “Azah” of the NSCN/GPRN.

This action plan underscores the region’s commitment to public welfare and environmental protection, reflecting a proactive approach to governance and community safety.
