Nagaland Police Issue Warning Over Investment Scam Linked to RGA
Kohima: Nagaland Police have issued a public advisory warning residents of an investment scam linked to a company known as RGA.
The fraudulent scheme has reportedly duped numerous individuals by promising significant financial returns, drawing comparisons to a Ponzi scheme.
According to the police, the scam initially delivers returns to early investors, creating an illusion of legitimacy and encouraging others to join.
This cycle of deception lures more victims, as current investors are incentivized to recruit new participants. Authorities have expressed concern that this scheme’s operations depend on funds from new investors to pay earlier participants, rather than genuine business profits.
The advisory urges those affected to report their cases through the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System. Victims can reach out via the 1930 helpline or submit their complaints online at cybercrime.gov.in.
Nagaland Police emphasize the need for vigilance and caution, reminding citizens that investment opportunities that sound too good to be true often are.
