Nagaland State Election Commission Orders Fresh Poll at Dimapur Municipal Council Ward

Northeast Desk, 27th June: The State Election Commission of Nagaland has invalidated the poll conducted on June 26 at Polling Station No. 4 under Ward 20 of the Dimapur Municipal Council. This decision was made under Section 31(1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, and Rule 66(a) of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023. Consequently, a fresh poll has been scheduled for June 28.

The decision followed a detailed report submitted by the Returning Officer of the Dimapur Municipal Council, taking into account all pertinent circumstances. The affected polling station covers areas such as Circuit House Area, W/W- Ura Villa, Circuit House & Imkonglenden Colony. Voting will occur from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on the rescheduled date.

To ensure smooth execution, the State Election Commission has directed the authorities to widely publicize the rescheduled poll in the affected areas and to notify all political parties and contesting candidates about the new polling date.
