Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival 2023 Promises a Unique Experience
Northeast Desk, 23rd September: The Hornbill Festival, an annual celebration of Nagaland’s rich culture, is set to dazzle visitors with a fresh and unique experience in its 2023 edition. Nagaland Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along expressed his excitement, assuring that this year’s festival would be “more interesting and different” compared to previous years.
Tourists from around the world are warmly invited to partake in this 10-day cultural extravaganza, providing a glimpse into Nagaland’s diverse traditions. The state government is collaborating with various departments and tribal communities to ensure the festival’s success.
A noteworthy initiative is the provision of Grand-in-Aid to the local population for the first time, allowing them to earn additional income during the festival. The minister also encouraged everyone to take good care of government property and encouraged associations and departments to organize a clean-up campaign in Kohima.
Additionally, the agriculture department is considering including a millet festival in the celebrations. Concerns about high taxi rates during the festival were also addressed, with MLA Kevipodi Sophie promising to look into the matter.
With these efforts and innovations, the Hornbill Festival 2023 promises to be a memorable and culturally enriching experience for all attendees.
