A decisive blow has been struck against the illicit drug trade in Manipur as security forces, alongside the Kangpokpi Forest Division, successfully eradicated vast poppy plantations nestled within the Naphai hill ranges. The operation, meticulously overseen by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), targeted the heart of illegal narcotics production in the region.
The coordinated effort resulted in the destruction of approximately 35 acres of illegal poppy cultivation. The estimated market value of the eradicated crops is pegged at a staggering Rs 3.90 crore, highlighting the scale of the illicit activity that was dismantled.
This operation, conducted under the jurisdiction of Saikul Police Station in Kangpokpi district, underscores the persistent campaign against the proliferation of illegal narcotics. Authorities have reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to enforcing stringent measures against such unlawful activities, signaling a relentless pursuit to dismantle the illegal drug trade network within the region.
