Guwahati: Two teachers from Assam will be awarded the National Award on Teachers’ Day on September 5 by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind.
The teachers to be awarded are Kankan Kishore Dutta of Bamunpukhuri High School in Jorhat and Binanda Swargiary of KB Deulkusi Higher Secondary School in Baksa district.
The purpose of the National Award to Teachers is to celebrate the unique contribution of the teachers and to honor those who through their commitment have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of the students.
The award is given every year to provide public recognition to meritorious teachers working in primary, middle, and secondary schools.
