National BJP President JP Nadda Enquires About Tripura Flood Situation, Assures Support

Agartala: Union Health Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda on Tuesday took stock of the prevailing flood situation in Tripura, holding a telephonic conversation with state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharya. The discussion focused on the impact of incessant rainfall that has led to widespread inundation across several districts.

Heavy downpours, particularly affecting West Tripura, Khowai, and Unakoti districts, have caused significant disruptions and displacement. In response to the escalating crisis, the state government has swiftly operationalised 60 relief camps to provide shelter and aid to affected citizens.

These relief camps are strategically distributed, with 48 in West Tripura, 3 in Khowai, 3 in Unakoti, and 6 in North Tripura. As per official figures, these camps are currently accommodating approximately 2,800 families, translating to around 10,600 individuals seeking refuge from the floodwaters.

Taking to Facebook, BJP Tripura President Rajib Bhattacharya shared details of his interaction with the party’s national chief. “BJP National President and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda spoke to me today over the phone to inquire about the unexpected flood situation caused by the heavy rains in the state over the past few days,” he posted. Bhattacharya further conveyed that he apprised Mr. Nadda of the ground realities, to which the Union Minister assured unwavering support. “I informed him about the current situation in the state and he assured that he is always by our side with all kinds of assistance. I express my sincere thanks and gratitude to him for standing by the people of Tripura in every situation,” Bhattacharya added, expressing his appreciation for the national leadership’s concern.
