National Herald Case: ED Questions Rahul For 4 Hours On 2nd Day Straight

Guwahati: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) interrogated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for over 4 hours for the second day in a row on Tuesday in connection with an alleged money laundering case involving the National Herald newspaper.

This comes just one day after the ED interrogated the congressman for more than ten hours on Monday.

The 51-year-old senior Congress leader arrived at the ED offices with his sister Priyanka Gandhi about 11 am and was detained by investigators shortly after entering the facility.

Gandhi, who arrived at the federal agency’s headquarters in central Delhi at 11:10 am, was questioned approximately 20 minutes later after completing some brief legal formalities and marking his attendance.

Officials claimed he was permitted to go for lunch at around 2:10 pm and returned for interrogation at around 3:30 pm.

According to sources, the Congress leader would be questioned once more about the Gandhi family’s ownership of Young Indian Private Limited (YIL) and its stake in Associate Journals Limited (AJL), the business that publishes the National Herald daily.

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi appeared in front of the ED for the first time for interrogation. After interrogation, he departed the ED office approximately 11 p.m. On Monday morning, at 11 a.m., the interrogation began.

Meanwhile, during a protest in the national capital over the Rahul Gandhi probe, the Delhi Police detained Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and others.
