NE Express Train Accident: Claims Lives of Mother and Daughter from Assam
Guwahati, 12th October: In a heartbreaking incident, a train accident that occurred near Raghunathpur Station in Bihar’s Buxar district on Wednesday night has claimed the lives of two passengers, a mother and her daughter, hailing from Assam.
The two passengers, identified as Usha Bhandari and Aakriti Bhandari, were from the Tinsukia district. Usha Bhandari, a 33-year-old woman, was traveling to her in-laws’ house along with her husband Deepak Bhandari and their 8-year-old daughter Akriti.
This tragic accident has resulted in the loss of around four lives and injuries to more than 70 people, as multiple coaches of the Delhi-Kamakhya North East Express derailed. The AC coaches had overturned, and numerous other coaches went off the track, with at least 21 coaches in total derailing.
Railway Police Force officials have been actively involved in responding to the incident, shifting the injured passengers to local hospitals for medical treatment, while those with more severe injuries were taken to AIIMS in Patna. This sorrowful incident has brought immense grief to the affected families, and our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
