Guwahati: Girl from Asaam, Ananya Medhi placed top among female candidates in the Northeastern region of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG, 2022, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced today.
Ananya is the top girl in the Northeast and earned an All India Rank (AIR) of 205. Out of 720 points, she earned 694.
Ananya had done her schooling in Assamese medium from Assam Jatiya Bidyalay in the Noonmati area of Guwahati. She is the child of the school’s principal, Ghanashyam Medhi.
An estimated 18.72 lakh students registered for the entrance exam, which was held on July 17. NTA reported that almost 95% of registered applicants showed up for the NEET UG exams.
In 497 Indian cities, 3,570 testing locations hosted the entrance exam for medical school admissions. Additionally, exams were also held in 14 foreign places.
Out of the 33,143 students that registered for the NEET 2022 (UG) tests, 17,027 Assamese students ultimately qualified.
Tanishka from Rajasthan took first place in the admission exam, with Vatsa Ashish Batra from Delhi and Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule from Karnataka taking second and third place, respectively.
