NEET Re-exam for Girl Students on Sep 4

Guwahati: The National Testing Association (NTA) has agreed to retake the NEET exam for female students who were allegedly made to take off their underwear before entering an exam centre in Kerala’s Kollam district last month, reports said on Saturday.

According to PTI that the re-examination would take place on September 4.

“The impacted students may retake the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) on September 4 in Kollam, thanks to permission from the NTA. In addition to Kollam, the impacted applicants from two centres in Rajasthan, two in Madhya Pradesh, and one in Uttar Pradesh will retake the exam “they claimed.

On July 17, the girls were made to take off their underwear before entering a test centre in the Kollam district, which sparked outrage across the nation.

Seven people, including five women, were detained in conjunction with the removal of undergarments in the name of frisking to prevent exam fraud.

The problem was brought to light after the father of a 17-year-old girl told media that his daughter, who was taking her first-ever NEET, had not yet recovered from the stress of having to take the more than 3-hour-long exam while wearing nothing underneath.

The father had told journalists that his daughter was dressed in accordance with the NEET bulletin’s dress code, but it made no mention of innerwear.

The NTA formed a committee to conduct an inquiry.
