NEHU Inquiry Extended: Report Delayed by 15 Days

The ongoing investigation into administrative issues at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has been extended by 15 days. The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has granted this extension to the two-member inquiry committee headed by former UGC Chairman Professor D P Singh.

The committee, which was initially tasked with submitting its report by November 29, has now been given until December 14 to complete its investigation. The extension was granted after the committee requested additional time to delve deeper into the matters at hand.

The committee has been scrutinizing various allegations, including administrative lapses and financial irregularities. During their visit to NEHU, they met with students, faculty, and staff to gather firsthand accounts of the problems plaguing the institution.

The outcome of this investigation is eagerly awaited by the entire NEHU community, as it will have significant implications for the future of the university and its Vice-Chancellor, Prabha Shankar Shukla. The report is expected to shed light on the underlying issues and recommend necessary corrective measures.
