NER Directorate NCC Contingent Honored by Assam Governor for Outstanding Representation at 75th Republic Day Camp
Guwahati, 2nd February: The NER Directorate NCC contingent, composed of cadets from all North Eastern states, received accolades from Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria during their visit to Raj Bhavan on the 75th Republic Day. A total of 171 NCC cadets, including Junior Wing cadets for the NCC girls band and 4 Remount and Veterinary company cadets, actively participated in the camp.
Governor Kataria commended each member of the contingent, expressing pride in their dedication and love for service, which was showcased at the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi from December 29 to January 29. He highlighted their participation in the rally organized by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on January 29, 2024, as a demonstration of commitment to national service and unity.
Acknowledging the diversity of the North Eastern region reflected in the contingent, Governor Kataria praised the NCC North East Regional Directorate for selecting talented cadets from various districts, creating a representation that mirrors the richness of the region.
The Governor extended congratulations to the contingent for being awarded the Best Cultural Team trophy, recognizing their creativity and dedication. He motivated and inspired them to continue excelling in their future endeavors, emphasizing the crucial role NCC plays in the development of youth and fostering a sense of being Indian.
The event was attended by Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram, Major General Gagandeep Singh, Brigadier Dinar Dighe, Brigadier Vijayant Mahadik, and officials from Raj Bhavan.
