New Bodo Sahitya Sabha Executive Committee Formed
Guwahati: A new executive committee was formed on Sunday following the conclusion of the 62nd session of the central committee, the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and the 48th session of the Kokrajhar district BSS.
According to reports, Surat Narzary has been appointed as the new BSS president and Nilima Basumatary, Prasanta Boro and Sitaram Basumatary has been appointed as the vice presidents of BSS.
On the other hand, Nilukanta Gayary has been chosen to serve as the BSS’s new general secretary.
The 62nd session of the BSS began on February 23 and ended on February 26 at Rani Khalaishree Fwthar in Patgaon, Kokrajhar district next to the Swrmanga River.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other well-known figures from several states and Nepal were also invited to the BSS session, MLA and reception committee president Lawrence Islary had earlier told the media.
In addition, 500 stalls had been created for the book fair and exhibition and approach roads were being constructed, according to MLA Islary. He urged people to turn out for the historic meeting and contribute to its success.
According to reports, this year’s BSS session was attended by around 6,000 delegates from the states of Assam and West Bengal as well as Nepal.
Moreover, there were cultural displays from several BTC regions, Assam and West Bengal.
