Beta Testing Begins : A New Message Rating Feature is finally on WhatsApp Business Accounts
WhatsApp is working on a message rating function for corporate accounts, according to reports. Users will be able to rate communications from businesses in order to provide feedback. This functionality is supposedly rolling out to Android beta users, and a few iOS users have also reported seeing it. Users will be able to rank messages in terms of stars, with five stars being the highest and one star being the lowest. Direct feedback to WhatsApp Business accounts is currently unavailable.
This new message rating feature was discovered by WABetaInfo while digging through the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.22.7. This feature has been activated for beta users, and it is possible that earlier beta users will be allowed to utilise it as well. While it is being received by a number of users on WhatsApp beta for Android, the features tracker reports that it is also being received by a number of users on WhatsApp beta for iOS.
Message rating is only available for WhatsApp Business accounts, according to the tracker. This functionality is also only available when you get a message from one of your business accounts. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp cannot see the content of a message when you rate it, and WhatsApp cannot see who scored it because the feedback is anonymous. According to reports, the feature does not compromise end-to-end encryption of conversations, therefore rated texts are invisible to WhatsApp.
However, WhatsApp and business accounts could be able to see general feedback about sent messages from the business, but they won’t be able to see who rated them. In its rating alert, WhatsApp notes that these ratings look to help businesses improve their messages to customers.
In a WhatsApp Business chat, tap and hold a message to activate a dialogue box where you can rate it. Previously, the’report’ button appeared alongside ‘copy’ in you to mark a few unsuitable communications as spam. For beta users, a new ‘rate’ option has also been added.
