New Zealand’s Greg Barclay appointed as new chairman of ICC

New Zealand lawyer and cricket director of New Zealand Greg Barclay has been appointed the new chairman of the International Cricket Council. Greg Barclay has served as the Cricket director of New Zealand since 2012 and also had firm interest in cricket.

Greg Barclay will replace interim chairman Imran Khawaja who was a temporary chairman of International Cricket Council. On being elected as the new Chairman Greg Barclay said “It is an honour to be elected as the Chair of the International Cricket Council and I would like to thank my fellow ICC Directors for their support. I hope we can come together to lead the sport and emerge from the global pandemic in a strong position and poised for growth.”

Lawyer and cricket enthusiast Greg Barclay has been a board member of New Zealand Cricket since 2012 and also served as New Zealand’s representative on the ICC.
