Guwahati: In a tragic incident, three attackers including two Nihang Sikhs killed a person on Thursday following a heated altercation over the guy for allegedly smoking marijuana near the Golden Temple. The terrible incident was caught on camera.
The incident took place in the streets of Amritsar at Sri Harmandir Sahib which is close to the famous Golden Temple.
In a CCTV recording of the incident, two Nihang Sikhs are seen arguing with a man in the street while other people are around. One of them points a sword in the man’s direction as the disagreement swiftly devolves into violence.
The two Nihang Sikhs wrestle with him before overpowering him and killing him with a knife. Soon after that, as bystanders assemble around the deceased person’s body, the Nihang Sikhs, who belong to an ultra-conservative order within the Sikh community, depart the scene.
According to reports, two persons have been arrested in connection with the incident. The murder occurred less than one kilometre from the Sikh shrine, and a two-minute long video of the incident was captured by the CCTV camera.
Reportedly, the deceased’s body lay next to the drain overnight until police learned of it in the morning.
Officials stated that the victim’s name has not yet been identified and that he was from the Chatiwind area.
