Nitin Gadkari Reviews Progress of National Highway Projects in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur
Arunachal Pradesh: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari held a review meeting to assess the progress of 15 ongoing National Highway projects, covering 423 km in Arunachal Pradesh. The minister emphasized the importance of fast-tracking these crucial infrastructure projects, reinforcing the Modi government’s commitment to improving connectivity and boosting economic development in the Northeast.
The review was attended by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Union MoS for Road Transport and Highway Ajay Tamta, MPs Harsh Malhotra and Tapir Gao, as well as Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu. Key officials from the ministry and the state government also participated in the discussions.
According to sources from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in Arunachal Pradesh, Gadkari stressed the need for expeditious completion of these projects, which are seen as vital for enhancing mobility and regional growth.
In a parallel development, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh also held discussions with Gadkari in New Delhi, focusing on speeding up highway projects in his state. Singh announced that new infrastructure projects would soon be launched, further improving the region’s connectivity.
“Engaged in a productive discussion with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji to address challenges and accelerate the progress of ongoing highway projects in Manipur during the Review Meeting of National Highway Projects in the North-East, held today in New Delhi,” Singh posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Both states are set to witness enhanced infrastructure development, with these national highway projects playing a pivotal role in transforming the transport landscape across the Northeast.
