Nobel Peace Prize winners calls for freedom of the press

Guwahati; The two jounalists Maria Ressa of the Philippines and Dmitry Muratov of Russia , were awarded  Nobel Peace Prize for 2021  on Friday during a pomp-filled ceremony in Norway,

The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded them the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for their separate fights for freedom of expression in countries where reporters have faced persistent attacks, harassment, and killing

Addressing the people in the ceremony both the journalists  urged for independent reporting to counter the power of authoritarian governments.
