North East Youth Festival 2025: Battle of Bands Ignites Paljor Stadium

Gangtok: The 8th North East Youth Festival 2025 witnessed a thrilling musical spectacle on its second day as the highly anticipated Battle of Bands unfolded at Paljor Stadium. Young musicians from across the northeastern states took center stage, delivering electrifying performances in a fierce contest for supremacy.

Five talented bands competed in the event: Ashoumg Singhi & Band from Arunachal Pradesh, Fun Genes Band from Meghalaya, Renegades from Mizoram, The Crossroad from Sikkim, and Rockfort from Tripura. The competition showcased an eclectic mix of rock, fusion, and indigenous musical elements, captivating the audience with dynamic performances. The results will be announced tomorrow at a special ceremony at Nar Bahadur Bhandari Degree College, Tadong.

MLA and Advisor of the Roads and Bridges Department, Mr. Erung T Lepcha, attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he lauded the festival for fostering cultural exchange and unity among the youth of the region. “Events like these provide a platform for young talent and create an opportunity to learn more about the diverse cultures within the North East,” he stated, encouraging participants to pursue their musical aspirations.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Ms. Yangchen D Tamang, Secretary of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Dr. RB Bishwakarma, Additional Director, and Ms. Madhavi Mohan, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, alongside other officials, special guests, and participants from different northeastern states. The festival continues to be a beacon of creativity, youth empowerment, and cultural celebration.
