North Frontier Railway Officials Ensure Supply Lines Despite Cyclone Remal’s Fury
Northeast Desk, 5th June: In the wake of Cyclone Remal’s onslaught, which unleashed over 1000mm of rainfall in just three days, North Frontier (N.F.) Railway officials have been working tirelessly to uphold the continuous flow of essential commodities and the smooth operation of passenger trains across the Northeast.
Despite the cyclone’s severe flooding, which overwhelmed railway assets and caused rivers to overflow, the dedicated efforts of railway staff have ensured that vital supply lines remain open to states like Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram, and the South Assam districts.
Operating with a war footing approach, N.F. Railway officials and workers have been on duty round the clock, tirelessly managing the crisis. Their swift response included repairing damaged tracks, restoring communication lines, and ensuring the safety of both goods and passenger trains.
This relentless effort has proven instrumental in maintaining the steady flow of essential items such as food, medicine, and other necessary goods to the affected regions.
Although Cyclone Remal’s impact has been widespread, causing significant damage to infrastructure and inundating numerous areas, the proactive measures undertaken by the NF Railway have helped mitigate the potential for severe shortages in the Northeast.
The officials’ unwavering commitment to service during this crisis has been commendable, underscoring their resilience and dedication to public welfare.
