Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, an elderly woman was killed in Amingaon area of North Guwahati on Wednesday.
The accident took place on the national highway 13 near Joyguru in Amingaon area.
The deceased has been identified as Mohini Baniya who is a resident of Tangla in Udalguri district of Assam.
According to reports, Baniya lost her life after being hit by a speeding ambulance when she was walking on the roadside.
Reportedly, she was living in Joyguru for a long time along with her family in a rented space.
The ambulance is registered with the number AS 25 Q 3544.
It was further reported that the ambulance was heading towards Guwahati from North Guwahati.
It may be mentioned that police reached the site and sent the body for post-mortem reports.
