Northeast Politician Criticizes User’s Remark About Guwahati

Northeast Desk, 29th September: Pradyot Manikya Debbarma, a prominent politician from the Northeast and a scion of the Tripura royal family, strongly responded to a user identified as ‘Nishith’ who referred to Guwahati, Assam, as “a village.”

The user shared a photo of England cricket team players on an IndiGo flight en route to Guwahati and criticized the World Cup situation. In response, Debbarma cautioned the user to be considerate in their choice of words and questioned the remark about Guwahati being called a village.

Assam is set to host four warm-up matches, with Guwahati being one of the venues. The exchange on social media highlights the passion and pride associated with local identity and the defense of one’s region.
