Guwahati: The leader of the newly outlawed insurgent group, the National Socialist Council of Karbi Anglong (NSCKA) have sustained injuries in a gunbattle with police in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Wednesday.
The injured militant has been identified as Pabitra Teron.
Police officials informed that six other group members of the outlawed had also been detained.
According to police, seven boys from the district came together and formed the new group.
Upon receiving information, police acted upon it and apprehended the group after a brief shootout.
According to the authorities, three pistols along with live rounds were seized from their possession.
Meanwhile, an investigation to unearth further linkages is on.
