NSE co-location scam: ED summons Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey
Guwahati: Former police commissioner of Mumbai, Sanjay Pandey was summoned in by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday in connection to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) co-location scandal.
Pandey, who retired last week, has been asked to appear before the investigating commission on July 5 at 11 am at their offices, according to ANI.
The ED will record his statements in accordance with the provisions of the Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently looking into the case to see why an audit firm founded in 2001 by Sanjay Pandey did not bring up the possibility of NSE servers being compromised.
It may be noted that the breach gave one of the trading firms unauthorised accesses to the system, leading to unexpected earnings.
The firm incorporated by Pandey was one of the IT companies supposed to conduct security audits at NSW from 2010 to 2015, when the breach is believed to have taken place leading to the co-location scam.
