NTCA Awards Honor Assam’s Frontline Forest Staff for Anti-Poaching Efforts
Guwahati, 30th July: The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) Awards have recognized the bravery and dedication of frontline staff from national parks who combat poaching activities, celebrating their crucial role in wildlife protection.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his happiness as six personnel from the Assam Forest Department were honored with the ‘Wildlife Protection and Anti-Poaching Activities’ award. Union Minister Bhupender Yadav presented the awards during a ceremony held in Delhi to mark International Tiger Day.
The recognized personnel include constables Gagan Kakati, Debajit Doley, Sunil Hazarika, boatman Mintu Das, and foresters Nayanjyoti Pathak and Bashiram Brahma. CM Sarma praised their fortitude and commitment to preserving Assam’s wildlife.
Two foresters from Manah National Park also received the prestigious award at the event, which highlighted the ongoing efforts and successes in tiger conservation and anti-poaching activities.
The NTCA Awards ceremony underscored the importance of frontline forest staff in safeguarding India’s rich biodiversity, honoring their courage and relentless efforts in the fight against poaching.
