Odisha defeat Mizoram 2-0 in National Women’s Hockey League 2024

Sports Desk, 10th May: In a thrilling encounter, Haryana emerged victorious over Madhya Pradesh with a 3-2 shootout win after a goalless regulation time. Despite both teams fiercely contesting, neither could capitalize on their opportunities throughout the match.

Despite being awarded multiple penalty corners, neither Haryana nor Madhya Pradesh managed to find the back of the net. However, in the shootout, Haryana’s Manju Chorsiya, Pinki, and Khasa Shashi scored crucial goals, while Ishika’s stellar goalkeeping efforts saved three goals for Haryana, securing them two points.

In the day’s opening match, Odisha secured a 2-0 victory over Mizoram. The first quarter remained goalless, but Pratibha Ekka (25′) broke the deadlock with a field goal in the second quarter, giving Odisha the lead. Despite a goalless third quarter, Karuna Minz (52′) extended Odisha’s lead with another field goal in the final quarter, securing a comfortable win for her team.
