OIFFA 2023: Adil Hussain wins best actor award for Footprints on Water at Ottawa Indian Film Festival

Entertainment Desk, 19 June:Assam’s pride Adil Hussain has won several awards not only in India but also internationally for his outstanding performance. Actor Adil Hussain was honoured with the Best Actor award at the Ottawa Indian Film Festival held in Canada for the film ‘Footprints on Water’. The actor thanked the Ottawa Indian Film Festival in a tweet after receiving the award.

The NSD alumnus’s early exposure to Assamese folk culture shows his love in performing and led him to pursue a career in entertainment.

The thriller “Footprints on Water,” directed by Nathalia Syam centres on an illegal immigrant father in the UK who searches for his missing daughter while attempting to stay off the radar of the police. The film stars Adil Hussain, Nimisha Sajayan, Antonio Aakeel and others.

At the Indo-German Film Week 2023, the national award-winning actor previously took home two international honours for his performance in the movie “Footprints on Water” and “Max Min Meozaki.”

Adil Hussain has contributed to a number of Indian independent and mainstream films as well as films from other countries, such as “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” and “Life of Pi.” He was given National Film Awards (Special Jury) for “Hotel Salvation” and “Maj Rati Keteki” at the 2017 National Film Awards.
