Om Prakash Mathur Sworn in as Governor of Sikkim, Vows Dedication and Integrity

Northeast Desk, 31st July: Om Prakash Mathur was officially sworn in as the Governor of Sikkim at the Raj Bhavan in Gangtok today. The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Bishwanath Somadder of the High Court of Sikkim.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by an array of dignitaries, including Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, cabinet ministers, MLAs, and senior bureaucrats. Mathur, who succeeds Laxman Prasad Acharya, pledged to fulfill his duties with the utmost dedication and integrity, committing to uphold the Constitution and laws of the land.

In his welcome address, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed optimism about Mathur’s tenure, hoping it would usher in an era of prosperity and development for Sikkim.

The event marks the beginning of a new chapter in Sikkim’s governance, with Governor Mathur set to play a crucial role in the state’s future trajectory.
