Guwahati: Guwahati Police arrested one person in connection which an assistant executive engineer of railway constructions was attacked by muggers while crossing the tracks in the Noonmati area of the city on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Tinku Das who is a resident of Jupuri Basti near Jatiya Bidyalaya of Noonmati area.
Police informed that a search operation into the case is on to nab the culprits.
The assistant executive engineer was identified as Kishore Kalita. He was allegedly injured after he was stabbed and his throat slit by a group of robbers.
Reports further claimed that he was returning home from work.
It may be mentioned that a huge amount of cash and a mobile phone has been stolen from the victim’s possession.
