One Assam Rifles Jawan has been martyred while another one suffered bullet injury in an ambush with suspected NSCN(IM) cadres in Sanliam village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. The incident took place in 6.30 am when a convoy of 6 Assam Rifles came under heavy fire.
The Assam Rifles in a statement said “In the heavy gunfight, one Assam Rifles jawan was martyred while another sustained bullet injury.
