One dead, 24 ill after consuming funeral feast
Guwahati: One death and at least 24 people were hospitalized after consuming a funeral feast at Rupauli village in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district.
The patients were taken to a local hospital as most of the people had food poisoning after consuming the food at the funeral feast.
All the patients were admitted to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Saraiya.
Dr. Vinay Kumar Sharma, Civil surgeon of the CHC said that the villagers after consuming the food people complained of vomiting and severe abdominal pain.
He further directed medical health officers of CHC Saraiya to initiate treatment of the children with utmost priority.
“A number of senior officials of the district are also camping in the CHC as well as in the village,” Sharma added.
An investigation has been started to determine how the food poisoning among so many people happened.
