Guwahati: An 8-year-old girl died and over 50 people were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Friday.
The patients were taken to a local hospital as most of the people had food poisoning after consuming the food comprising of tea and biscuits at a religious function.
According to reports, the villagers after consuming the food people complained of stomach ache and vomiting, and diarrhea-like symptoms.
However, the officials claimed that the minor girl died in the Bokajan Civil Hospital, where all of the patients are admitted.
An investigation has been started to determine how the food poisoning among so many people happened.
