One Killed, 2 Injured In jumbo attacks in a span of just 24 Hrs
Guwahati: In an yet another man-elephant conflict, at least one person was trampled to death while two forest guards sustained severe injuries following an attack by the jumbo in two different incidents that took place in Morigaon district of Assam, reports stated on Sunday.
As per reports, one person identified as Adeep Konwar was killed by a wild jumbo near his residence yard in Dahali area of Jagiroad on Saturday night.
It has emerged that the jumbo attacked Konwar after leaving the Sonaikushi forest area in quest of food.
Konwar lost his life in the attack and his body was recovered by Nellie Police.
In another incident, two forest guards working at Khulahat forest area sustained grievous injuries after being attacked by a wild jumbo.
The injured guards have been identified as Ghan Das and Gopal Saikia.
Although they were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, however, they were then referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advance treatment.
